Another Brick in the Wall
Shortly after taking the throne, Emperor Hongwu, the first emperor of the newly established Ming Dynasty, orders the building of a city wall around his capital city of Nanjing. By royal edict, each brick in the wall is to be carved with the name and insignia of the manufacturer and the penalty for sending substandard bricks is death of 9 generations. You have just heard that old friends, a family of craftsmen are under investigation, facing penalty of death for their delivery to the wall.
